Good Faith Estimate Notice

Your Right to Receive an Estimate of Expected Charges

At The Boylan Effect, we believe that transparency is an important part of the therapeutic relationship. We are committed to helping you understand the anticipated cost of your care so you can make informed decisions about your treatment.

What is a Good Faith Estimate?

Under the No Surprises Act, healthcare providers are required to provide individuals who are uninsured or who choose not to use their health insurance with a Good Faith Estimate of the expected charges for healthcare services. A Good Faith Estimate outlines the anticipated cost of services that are reasonably expected to be provided as part of your treatment.

Who Can Receive a Good Faith Estimate?

You have the right to request a Good Faith Estimate if you:

  • Are not using health insurance to pay for services.
  • Choose to pay privately rather than submit claims through insurance.
  • Would like an estimate before scheduling services.
  • Would like an updated estimate during the course of treatment if your treatment plan changes.

What Will My Estimate Include?

Your Good Faith Estimate may include anticipated costs for:

  • Initial intake assessment
  • Individual psychotherapy
  • Family or couples therapy (when offered)
  • Group therapy or workshops (when applicable)

The estimate is based on the information available at the time it is prepared. Actual treatment recommendations and the number of sessions needed may change depending on your individual needs, goals, and clinical progress.

Your Rights

If you receive a bill that is $400 or more above your Good Faith Estimate, you may have the right to dispute the charges through the federal patient-provider dispute resolution process. Additional information regarding your rights is available through the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

Requesting a Good Faith Estimate

You may request a Good Faith Estimate:

  • Before scheduling services.
  • Before beginning treatment.
  • At any point during therapy if you would like an updated estimate.

If you have questions regarding fees or would like to receive an estimate, please contact The Boylan Effect.
